Letter to the Editor “Perspectives of boys, families & surgeons: Preputioplasty vs. circumcision for treatment of lichen sclerosus”
Abstract
We read with great interest the recent article“Perspectives of Boys, Families & Surgeons: Preputioplasty vs. Circumcision for Treatment of Lichen Sclerosus” by Kirton et al. The authors are to be commended for bringing forward the psychosocial dimensions of surgical decision-making on preputioplasty with intralesional steroids (PIT) versus circumcision for lichen sclerosus (LS). However, several interpretative limitations deserve further consideration, particularly when contrasted with current evidence-based guidelines.
