Endovascular stenting in pediatric trauma: A critical analysis of long-term outcomes and follow-up gaps
Abstract
We are writing in response to the article “Stent it and Forget it? Not in Kids: Endovascular Treatment of Traumatic Arterial Injuries in Adolescents” by Sutyak et al., published in Journal of Pediatric Surgery [1]. The study presents a valuable investigation into the use of endovascular stenting as a treatment for traumatic arterial injuries in pediatric patients. While the study offers important insights into the feasibility of stenting for children and adolescents, there are several areas of critical analysis that merit attention.
