What the experts said
This is the second annual Best of the Best in Pediatric Surgery event
The event will last approximately three to four hours
Cecilia Hana is a pediatric surgeon from Fundacion Hospitalaria in Argentina and is a fellow in the Media Lab at Cincinnati Children's
Each participating society was asked to submit their top three best presentations from their meeting
All submitted videos will be released throughout the year so everyone can see every best presentation
The audience will vote on which presentation from each society's top three they want to hear during the live event
After viewing selected presentations, there will be a contest to vote for the best of the best in pediatric surgery globally for 2022
Eleven societies are participating: AAP, APSA, CAPS, SEORS, UPSA, Iberoamericana, IPEG, IPSO, PAPS, PSA, and WP
BAPS is expected to be included in next year's event
Dr. Tony Sandler is the senior vice president and surgeon in chief at Children's National Hospital and will co-host the event
The event is sponsored by Cincinnati Children's, Children's National Hospital, Seattle Children's, Buffalo Children's Hospital, and Karl Storz Endoscopy
Britney Levy and Ellen Cisco are fellows in the Media Lab at Cincinnati Children's who helped organize the event and will be returning to residency at University of Kentucky and Mayo Clinic respectively
The event will feature 11 societies with 10 presentations to be selected and viewed
After watching the selected presentations, attendees will vote to determine which is the best of the best from all 11 societies
